Live At Carnegie Hall captures Stevie Ray Vaughan and Double Trouble at a unique moment in their history, recorded at New York City's Carnegie Hall on 4 October 1984. Performed the day after Vaughan's 30th birthday, the concert stands apart as the only time the core trio expanded into a larger ensemble, transforming the familiar Texasblues attack into something broader and more celebratory. Joined by an exceptional group of special guests - including drummer George Rains, Dr. John on keyboards, the Roomful of Blues horn section, Jimmie Vaughan on guitar and vocalist Angela Strehli - the set functions as both a statement of intent and a tribute. Vaughan used the occasion to honour key influences such as Guitar Slim, Albert Collins and Albert King, artists who had never themselves played the storied venue. Performances of "Pride And Joy", "Lenny" and "Rude Mood" sit comfortably alongside deeper blues cuts, all delivered with authority and precision.
