PIERRE MOERLEN'S GONG Gazeuse! (Rare 1976 UK 7-track vinyl LP, the band's first completely instrumental album & one of the classics from the Pierre Moerlen's Gong period, a very different sound to the earlier space rock of Daevid Allen's Gong, with guitarist Allan Holdsworth taking things to a new higher plain. Released on the Virgin label; however, this rare pressing has two different Stiff Records labels instead of Virgin, but these are also blank without any album details writtenor printed, so could have been manufactured as a test pressing for possible distribution partnership between Virgin and Stiff. Stiff Records started in August 1976, with this album released in September 1976, and has the correct Virgin records catalogue number / hand scratched 'V2074 A-2' & 'V2074 B-2' stamped matrices. There is no record anywhere to suggest this album was going to be released on Stiff records, which makes this an unusual and unique item.Housed in a plain paper sleeve, and the vinyl remains Excellent with minimal signs of play)
