KINGDOM COME Kingdom Come (Magnificent 1972 8-track stereo LP, the second album from the band fronted by Arthur Brown, housed in a matt picture sleeve. The cover is graded Very Good, as displays some minor general with some scuffing, ringwearand edge creases, however the vinyl is in a remarkable condition with minimal signs of play. A nice example of this highly sought after LP, priced advantageously)
TRACKLISTING AND EXTRA INFORMATION
The antics of Arthur Brown and Co after the fizzling out of the Crazy World [Mk. I] when Vince left to form Atomic Rooster, comprise many twists and turns before ending up in Ilsington Farmhouse Studio in Tincleton in Dorset.
With a new band and new ideas, Arthur recorded an album entitled Strangelands that was to remain unissued until 1988. Many of this band were to become Rustic Hinge when more recording was undertaken at nearby Ilsington Manor in Puddletown, later to surface as 'The Puddletown Tapes' before most of Rustic Hinge formed Magic Muscle and went their own way.
Embryonic versions of many tracks that were later to become flesh with Kingdom Come were laid down at this time.
Onward to 1971, when Arthur and the newly christened Kingdom Come unleashed the mighty Galactic Zoo Dossier on an unsuspecting world. If you're looking for Hair Metal then this is not the place to find it.
English, eccentric and downright brilliant [something that Arthur continues to this day] it had no peer. there was nothing on the planet like Kingdom Come.
Their stage show lives on in legend with giant telephones, traffic lights, mock crucifixions and intricate pieces in odd time signatures that must have given the early Cooper band a run for their money as regards musical theatre.
This was the second album, which brought you the Traffic Light Song and the soulful Love Is A Spirit which Arthur still performs from time to time.
If anything, it was even more experimental than GZD, but it rewards repeated listening with Arthur's amazing four octave voice often becoming part of the instrumentation.
"Captain I am and Captain I stay, Matey" - Arthur Brown.
Indeed.
