STEVE HACKETT Cured (1981 UK 8-track vinyl LP with unusual black Charisma labels, pressed in France for the UK market. Hackett’s fifth solo album released in 1981 marks a shift toward a lighter, more pop-oriented sound while retaining his unmistakable guitar tone and atmospheric flair. Featuring Hackett taking on lead vocal duties for the first time, the album blends melodic hooks with his trademark instrumental finesse. Highlights include the bright and catchy ‘Hope I Don’t Wake’, the serene instrumental ‘The Air-Conditioned Nightmare’, the elegant ‘Picture Postcard’, and the uplifting ‘Can’t Let Go’. Though more streamlined than his earlier work, Cured remains rich in texture and inventiveness, showcasing Hackett’s willingness to explore new territory. The glossy picture sleeve, complete with its original lyric inner, displays minimal shelfwear, while the vinyl remains in excellent condition, clean and barely played.
