THE ZOMBIES Odessey And Oracle (Incredibly rare original
1968 UK 12-track mono LP, housed in a front laminated
non-flipback picture sleeve. Overlooked on its original release but
now regarded as one of the finest English pop/psych albums of
the era, this is the almost impossible to find MONO pressing! See

More Details
Recorded at Abbey Road and Olympic Studios between June and November 1967, by the time of the April '68 release of 'Odessey And Oracle', the Zombies had effectively split-up. This obviously hampered the album's commercial breakthrough and sales were low as a result. Although the STEREO edition of the album was subsequently re-pressed by CBS in the wake of the US success of the 'Time Of The Season' single, there was only one initial pressing of the MONO version - a superb copy which we present here.
Condition
The front laminate on the picture sleeve is crisp & clean with the colours in Terry Quirk's psychedelic cover design wonderfully vivid. There are a few creases to the laminate along the open edge and some wear to the edges but nothing severe & although there is a split to the laminate at the spine, the text is still legible; the unlaminated reverse shows some discolouration & wear. There is also a vintage shop address sticker attached to the back.
Although not mint, this is still a lovely example.
The labels reveal some spindle marks to show play, to be honest who wouldn't want to play such a gem?
The vinyl has a few noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch. We have professionally cleaned the vinyl and play tested both sides, it plays through like a dream. Any surface noise is kept to an absolute minimum & just one or two very faint clicks on the odd occasion do not detract from the listener's enjoyment at all.
A Rose For Emily, Beechwood Park, This Will Be Our Year, the majestic album closer, Time Of The Season... it's all here!
Trust us, this one comes highly recommended.
We are very pleased to offer this mono rarity; strictly mint copies have hit four figure sums in the past, making this is a very commendable VG example at a fairer price.
